Walter Robbs Architecture has been awarded a contract to design a new Ashley Elementary School in Winston-Salem.
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education approved the contract last week, promising community input will be an important part of the process.
The school district bought several acres of surplus property near Fairview Park from the city of Winston-Salem in 2020 and is hoping to buy additional property for new building.
Ashley has been in the spotlight for some time because of concerns over indoor air quality at the school.
