The City of Greensboro is one of 16 communities nationwide chosen to participate in a Housing Supply Accelerator Challenge, a joint initiative of the National League of Cities and the American Planning Association.

The program is expected to speed the adoption of proven housing strategies and expand local housing supply. Participating cities will receive national recognition, access to housing supply experts, tailored technical assistance, and virtual workshops featuring best practices and tools.

“Being recognized as an ‘accelerator’ aligns perfectly with our vision for housing growth in Greensboro,” said Assistant City Manager Ednasha McCray. “The national expertise received through the program will help us more quickly reach our goals of ensuring safe, accessible, and diverse housing for all residents.”

Support from the program will help advance Greensboro’s Road to 10,000 initiative, a citywide effort to increase the quality and quantity of the city’s housing stock by 2030. More information on the initiative is available at www.gsoroadto10K.com.
