Aerospace startup JetZero will build its first advanced manufacturing and final assembly facility at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro. The project is expected to create more than 14,500 jobs and contribute to the state’s growing aerospace sector.

JetZero, which is developing a next-generation blended wing aircraft called the Z4, said the new facility will support full-scale production by the late 2030s. The site will eventually be capable of producing up to 20 aircraft per month.“North Carolina offers the ideal combination of talent, infrastructure, and forward-thinking leadership to support our mission to reshape aviation,” said JetZero CEO and co-founder Tom O’Leary.

Governor Stein said the project reflects North Carolina’s appeal to high-tech industries and emphasized the anticipated economic impact in Guilford County. “I am thrilled to welcome JetZero and its 14,000 good-paying jobs and unprecedented innovation,” he said.

JetZero cited the state’s research universities, community college network, and aerospace workforce as key factors in its decision. The company is working with state and local leaders on training and workforce development programs.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with the first customer aircraft deliveries expected in the early 2030s. Job postings will appear on JetZero’s website and NCWorks.gov as hiring ramps up.

The Z4 aircraft is being marketed as a fuel-efficient alternative to conventional airliners, featuring an all-wing design that the company says will reduce emissions and operating costs.
