Invitation: Subcontractor/vendor recruitment for Wilmington Army National Guard Readiness Center project

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and Wake Technical Community College are co-hosting a July 27 subcontractor/vendor recruitment event with SCMC – Harkins JV for upcoming construction of the Army National Guard Readiness Center in Wilmington, and other southeast region project pursuits.
Harkins JV says it is seeking local subcontractors and vendors. Large and small businesses are encouraged to attend, to include Small Disadvantaged Business, Women Owned SB, ED Women Owned SB, HUBZone SB, Veteran-Owned SB, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned SB Firms.
The recruitment event will take place at Wake Technical Community College, Room 118 3434 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, from noon to 4:00 p.m.
While the event is free, subcontractors are urged to register at this link.

The SCMC – Harkins JV is a Small Business Administration approved Mentor – Protégé relationship that is composed of Seneca SCMC LLC, a tribally owned Native American SBA-certified 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business and Harkins Builders Inc., a large business specializing in providing general contracting services.
Seneca SCMC LLC says it has successfully executed construction projects valued between $700,000 and 20 million in new construction, renovation, demolition, and upgrades of facility types to include: housing, administrative offices, warehouses, and training facilities. SCMC has the expertise and financial foundations to support work on multiple contracts simultaneously.
Harkins Builders Inc is a diversified construction manager active in multi-family housing, senior living, commercial, institutional, and military facilities working with federal, state, and local governments. With annual revenues of more than $225 million and three office locations serving the Mid-Atlantic region, Harkins says it has become an industry leader in government, commercial, and multifamily construction. Past performance includes the successful completion of two National Guard Readiness Centers in the past three years and is currently working on two additional readiness centers.
Project description and information
The facility will be permanent construction with HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems, and electrical systems. Supporting facilities include land clearing, paving, fencing, general site improvements, and extension of utilities to serve project. This project will meet a USGBC LEED Silver Certifiable level of construction.
The construction/contract duration will be 640 calendar days after notice to proceed. The magnitude of this project is between $10 and $25 million.
