Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. says it is currently providing installation work on the SkyHouse Uptown Tower II, a 24-story, 385,000 sq. ft. apartment complex in Uptown Charlotte, NC. This marks the third SkyHouse project that Griffin Electric has worked on, having previously contributed to SkyHouse Raleigh, as well as SkyHouse Uptown Tower I, which sits adjacent to Tower II.

The project, which is expected to be completed in February 2017, will feature 336 units, roof amenities with a pool, and lower level retail. Tower I and Tower II will share an 8-level parking deck with both retail and roof amenities, such as a tennis court, putting green, and soccer field.

Griffin Electric will be responsible for all lighting systems, which includes color changing LED Axon lighting on the roof. Other electrical work to be provided by the Griffin team comprises installing systems for fire alarm and voice/data, and wiring power circuit connections for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and other mechanical equipment.

Atlanta-based Batson-Cook Company is managing the project, while Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates of Atlanta (SRSSA) and Jordan & Skala Engineers, Inc. of Atlanta are serving as the project’s architect and electrical engineer, respectively. Griffin Electric teamed with Batson-Cook, SRSSA, and Jordan & Skala on the two previous SkyHouse projects, and is proud to continue our successful working relationship with them.
