Carolinas AGC has  announced that it named Betsy Bailey to its government relations team.

Ms. Bailey currently serves as the executive director of the Professional Engineers of North Carolina. She will become NC government relations and building director on March 1.

Ms. Bailey brings to CAGC an excellent background and wide-ranging experience on major issues to the construction industry involving building, transportation, design, utilities and specialty contractor/supplier fronts.

In North Carolina, Ms. Baileywill join the team of CAGC lobbyists Berry Jenkins, NC highway-heavy and government relations director, Allen Gray, utilities director, and Dave Simpson, interim president and CEO for CAGC.

Ms. Bailey has 16 years of association management and government relations experience and is a certified association executive – a distinction earned by only 5 per cent of association CEOs. Most recently, she was the CEO and lobbyist for the Professional Engineers of North Carolina for the past nine years. Recently, Betsy worked with Carolinas AGC and AIA NC on design build/P3 legislation and on many other important issues for the design and construction industry.

“We are delighted to add Betsy Bailey to our government relations team at a time when the Carolinas are at a crossroads with multi-billion-dollar infrastructure needs that will affect our quality of life for the future,” Dave Simpson said in a statement.
