For the third year in a row and for the seventh time in the last eight years, the  Carolinas Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors received the National Mullan Award for Growth.   The Mullan Award was named in honor of ABC founder and first Chairman of the Board Charles Mullan.  The national Mullan Award is the highest honor a chapter can receive.

“The Carolinas Chapter is proud to receive this award for our record growth in the Carolinas,” said Doug Carlson, ABC President & CEO.   “This is a pinnacle accomplishment for the chapter membership and staff, to continue to grow in these tough economic times.”

The Carolinas Chapter has grown to service nine council areas in the Carolinas with legislative representation in Raleigh and Columbia.  The chapter opened a new training facility last week in Charlotte promoting the Carolinas Construction Institute, providing training in all areas of workforce development throughout the Carolinas.

The Carolinas Chapter also announced that in 2013 the chapter is celebrating it’s 15th anniversary.  “ABC of the Carolinas is proud to promote and represent the entire industry with an equal voice,” says Carlson.  “Building The Carolinas on Merit is our passion.”
