Author Ralitsa Golemanova of JW Surety Bonds released a list of top five building projects in North Carolina.

These five top buildings in North Carolina all present a different facet of exceptional modern design and construction. From a corporate center through a university library to a specialized science building, they are a product of architectural and building mastery, writes Ralitsa.

A big-name bank needs a large headquarters. Bank of America has certainly achieved this with its phenomenal corporate center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The skyscraper is 871 feet tall and was completed in 1992. Since then, it has been the tallest building between Atlanta and Philly, certainly occupying pole position in North Carolina. It is so prominent a part of Charlotte’s skyline that it can be seen 35 miles away. Its architects are the Argentinian Cesar Pelli and HKS Architects.

Other projects in Golemanova’s list include: The huge $175 million Bell Tower development at UNC Chapel Hill, BRITE at North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University at Raleigh—James B. Hunt, Jr. Library, and North Carolina Museum of Art’s West Building Expansion.
